The food in the second last photo is called "Ma La Tang" (Boiling in spicy soup), a small scaled "Hot Pot", which is very HOT in Chengdu & Chongqing, China. It's said to have the advantaged of getting rid of damp there.

Hi Samantha,
Love this series, and last night's Sichuan episode is my favorite so far. It was so fascinating, and those pandas were unbelievably cute -- especially the one that was carried to your lap. Along with "Girl Meets Hawaii" this is my favorite of yours. You really carry it with your enthusiasm and energy. Keep up the good work, and thank you!

Hey Samantha,
Last night's episode was great! So far i am really enjoying watching your adventures in China. I must admit that i never really thought about going to China, but after watching you explore Beijing and Sichuan you and China have awoken my desire to experience the uniqueness and beauty of china, its culture and people.
I have been a loyal fan of just about every Passport to....show and the shows you did previously, Great Hotels etc...
I truly want to thank you for brining to your audience the adventures you have given us.
I, like many others would love to visit just about every country that you have had the opportunity to visit but since that's not a logical possibility for most, I want to thank you and the crew for brining to us a view of these countries like no show has ever done.
I will continue to look forward to the rest of the China series and your many adventures with
Great Weekend Getaways.
Sincerely,
Alexandra

What great timing! We leave for China on Aug 7. Your series has been very helpful in planning our trip. One question, how did you find your guides? They are all so professional and talented.

Hi Sam and Crew,
Love your episode from Sichuan! I just came back from China, but didn't get to stop by there so I will definitely go back and your episode has given me lots of ideas, so thanks! Question for you though...towards the end, you stopped by a photo studio where those great pictures of you in the red Tang dynasty outfit. What was that place called and what is the address?
Thanks and keep up the great work!

I'm with Anne - I signed on to find out the name of that fun-looking photo studio in Chengdu!
I watched the show on Xi'an last night with my children, including my son whom I adopted in Xi'an last year. It was wonderful to be able to show him and his sister all the places we visited. Thank you! The first night with him, we went to that that dumpling restaurant and he happily ate for an hour and a half. Xi'an - except for the choking mid-Winter pollution - was really magical. I also highly recommend the provincial museum, another can't-miss visit.

Hey Samantha,
Another terrific show put on by you and your crew - the Passport to China. I'm addicted to all of your shows, due in large part to your wonderful wit, current and useful info., and your expressive sense of wonder to constantly learn more about the world around you. I love your willingness to try something new, particularly your honest reactions to new foods, (e.g., escargot from the street vendor in France - priceless!). Your new show Passport to Great Weekends is excellent as is this last weeks offerings of Passport to China. I was hoping to see you tackle some part of Asia here one day. You make it look very "doable" for Americans and one place on my "wish list of places to see" is The Great Wall. I was excited for you as you approached the wall by mini-van - your anticipation was so beautifully evident. You have certainly made the Travel Channel "must see T.V" for me. My hope is that you may visit my hometown someday - Claremont, CA. We're a small college town resembling a quaint college town from the East Coast. We have a very chic boutique hotel in town, Casa 425 that I could see you staying at.
One last thing then I'll let you go - I'm a single gal of 38, and Ireland is high on my list of places to go. I'd love to take a walking tour or biking tour with a singles group. Any suggestions?
Thank you for all that you do. You are a dream.

Karen

Hi Samantha,
I just watched your China Adventure, it was very inspiring to me. I am an avid fan of yours as I have travelled many place too, but not mianland China. I have been to the Pyramids, but I would love to see the Great Wall, the Panda's and the great historical gardens and art works in China.
You did a great job, showing the different places and the educational part of seeing another culture.
I would like to do the same thing in a few years using your itenirary. Keep up the good work in showing your viewers the great wonders of the world.
Always,
~Cecile

Hey Sam,
My sister, a friend, and I are studying abroad in China this summer, in Xi'an! We want to travel to Chengdu and would love to hold a panda, too. How did you go about getting to hold one?
Hi, there is LOTS of other food besides Chinese food in Chengdu - Korean, Japanese, Thai, French, Italian, Spanish. Also many varieties of Chinese - regional Sichuan, Cantonese, Hunan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Tibetan, Xinjiang, etc.

This is a long shot, but WHERE did you get that black wrap dress with the embroidered sleves and hem? You wear it in the park in China where they filter the water and it looks like you're wearing it in the pictures of you getting your ears cleaned (yikes). I know this is an older episode but everytime I see it I fall in love with that silly dress all over again!
